#8: Promote Content
If you use Twitter well, you can drive a lot of traffic to your website. However, just tweeting the title of your blog post with a link back to the website each time will not work. You have to be creative when you craft tweets to promote blog videos, posts, and content. Here are a few ways to get more clicks.
Make it short – tweets that are a hundred or fewer characters often get higher conversions. When promoting a link, write a brief introduction; it should be just enough that the reader knows what they should expect when they click on the link.
Quote posts – try using teasers from your posts. The quote should be precise and give the reader a good idea of what the post will be about.
Include statistics – people love figures and facts, so use stats that support your arguments in your content. This will add validity to ideas.
Leverage the hashtags – these are an excellent way to reach members of the industry who don’t follow you as of yet. Use the common industry ones to do this. You can use branded hashtags and encourage other people to use them, too.
Use the @mentions – if your post mentions a publication or an industry influencer, make sure you mention them in the promotions. They’re going to be flattered, and there is a good chance they’re going to share it too, so, you’ll reach an entirely new audience.
Ask for shares – this is an excellent way to get tweets retweeted. Just ask the viewers to retweet the post. Tweets that specifically ask for retweets are highly likely to get them.
Promote tweets – if you want even more exposure than what you’re already getting, promote your tweets for a small investment. They’re easy to make and will bring you a lot of traffic.
